George Strong, the owner, also provides estimates to potential clients due to his excellent selling ability. George has been in sales for most of his adult life from retail to services.
 
Rosie Stancell has been providing office support and customer service for the past 18 years.

Company Profile

Capitol Hill Floor Co. was established in 1979 by George Strong, after gaining knowledge from two previous floor companies that employed him in sales and management.

We provide flooring services to residential, commercial and governmental clients in the Washington metropolitan area. We specialize in hardwood flooring, providing services such as: patching, sand and refinishing, staining with basic and custom colors, and installing all types of natural wood flooring. Our motto is “We make old floors look like new. The more you look the more you like.”

We also supply and install commercial and residential vinyl tiles, ceramic tiles and commercial rubber tiles from various manufacturers such as Armstrong, Tarkett, Johnsonite, Dal-Tile and others.

Finally, we install commercial and residential carpeting with padding or glue down directly from a variety of manufacturers such as Aladdin, Dave Hockstein, Philadelphia and others.

Capital Hill Floor Company installed and restored hardwood flooring in two female dormitory lounge areas and miscellaneous rooms totaling over 5,500 sq. ft. The flooring restored was in a herringbone layout and appeared to be damaged beyond repair. Even though our scope specified the replacement of floor, upon visiting the site, George Strong of Capital Hill Floor Company envisioned otherwise. He advised the restoration of the original floor and saved the owner the cost of removing and replacing the floor. The work that Capital Hill Floor Company completed was exemplary and I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend this company with the highest enthusiasm.

Thank you for the fabulous work that your company did with sanding and refinishing our hardwood floors recently. We replacement of the badly stained wood tiles and final outcome is just perfect!
